CHAPTER 1
Centuries ago, in a kingdom named Arendelle, the queen had given birth to her and her king's first born heir to the throne. A daughter they named Elsa. But, Elsa was no ordinary child. Aside from the fact that she is royalty at birth, she possessed more power than ruling a kingdom could ever give. A power that in itself is a force of nature lies now in the hands of this royal newborn. The power to control all things ice and cold.
Her parents had discovered this which they thought abnormal at first when the royal doctor thought Elsa was ill as her skin felt deathly cold for a newly birthed child. But to her mother she felt normal, if not precious. As Elsa had acted in her nature and cried out for her mother's nourishment and embrace. As she cried more for her mother, frost began to form on the blanket that wrapped her. Tge doctor hadn't noticed in his hurry to hand Elsa to her highness. However the king had seen what his heir was capable of. They waited for the good to leave their chambers then asked the help to be disturbed no further. The queen's ladies in waiting performed their remaining duties towards her for the time being and left the room.
The king watched his daughter embraced in his queen's arms with worry because of what he had seen. The queen had noticed the worry in his eyes and addressed it. "Dear, why do you look anxious?" she asked in concern. "Our Elsa has a strange ability. I worry what will become of it." "How so?" "How are we to know just how powerful it is? What if she can't control it?" he wonders. "We won't know until further on in the fututre, but for now I choose to see her as the beautiful and gifted child she is." She say, looking over her in admiration as if treasuring every sight of her face in her eyes. "My darling I can't help but worry." "Would you care to hold your daughter?" she interrupts his nervous way of thinking. The king looks at his bellved wife and child fearing the possibilities of Elsa's powers. Nonetheless, he walks over and gently takes Elsa into his arms. He sits down on the chair adjacent to the bed. And in a moment his worries begin to melt away. All because he felt a tiny hand grasp his finger. He had never felt so much warmth before. "You're right my queen." he admits looking up to her. "I shant't worry for now. I'll watch her grow into the beautiful princess I know she will become. If her gift continues to grow with her, we will help her through it." Then he looks back down into Elsa's tiny face and contemplates her facial features. He says in a soft voice as the small princess began to drift off into sleep, "My beautiful child. I will always be there for you. For as long as I live, you will be safe, loved, and treasured forever."
That night while the king, queen, and little Elsa were all asleep, their windows began to frost. And the one closest to Elsa's cradle slowly began to open. Through that opening emerged a figure that was familiar to children around the world. A recentky transformed Jack Frost appeared and whispered to himself, "Well, I believe there is a fellow frost in here." He turns his head towards the cradle and sees the small child in her blankets, fast asleep. He then looks over to the king and queen's bed to make sure they are not disturbed as he slowly approaches the cradle. He looks into her face and senses her faint glimmer of power in his own. "Hello little snowflake." He says softly into her ear. "I have a strong feeling you are going to grow up into an amazingly gifted person. I will personally be watching the whole journey." He touches her tiny nose ever so gently with the tip of his finger. "It's nice to know I'm not the only frost in this world." He hears the queen move and makes his way out. "I'll be seeing you, snowflake." He leaves through the window he cane through and looks one last time through the glass at the little bundle of magic. He sighs into the glass leaving a distinct snowflake outline on the window pane. Then flies off to perform the rest of his winterly duties around the world.
The next morning, the queen is sitting by that window, nursing the little princess, and looks out to the window. "So beautiful! Dear have you seen this?" she asked with astonishment in her tone. "What isbit darling?" he asks as he approaches his wife and daughter by the window. "Look at the glads! I found this quite beautiful outline of a snowflake." "I've never seen anything like it!" the king exclaims baffled by how it became. "Do you suppose our little gift did this?" the queen speculates. "I'm not sure my darling. Either way, seeing how such beauty emerged here after Elsa's birth, I think it may be a sign of good things to come. She will bring such beauty into this kingdom." he says looking at his precious daughter with love in his eyes. "She's already brought so much to us," the queen agrees, "she will most definitely bring it to Arendelle, if not more." They had yet to know what Elsa will bring. And it was nothing as they could have ever imagined.
Well here it is, but late with a good explanation as to why. I currently blog from my phone cuz my laptop is busted and is under repair and I copied the first draft of this chapter to my dad's laptop for the time being so I had to wait until he left the laptop for me to finish posting it.
